Need a few new FREE games?

I’ve recently ran across a few games that I’ve added to my collection, and the best part is that they’re all FREE. Some of these games run on Windows only and some on Windows and Linux. Sorry, Jeff, no Mac support mentioned.

I’ve already posted about X-Moto, so I won’t mention it again.

The other games are all multi player ones, so if you’re not into that, you can stop here.

First up is F.E.A.R multi player. It’s a big 1.8 GB download, but I hear that this game is awesome. It’s downloading now so I can’t comment on it yet.

Second is a game called Warsow.

Warsow is a first person shooter (FPS) game designed for online play. Many games, as detailed below, have inspired warsow yet it is its own unique game. Similarities to Quake 3 CPMA and Unreal Tournament games are probably the most evident. The team has sought to create a fun, fast, action-packed game which may be seen as a critique of the many realistic, slow, warfare-orientated FPS’s that saturate todays FPS market.

* Standalone game for Windows and Linux under General Public License
* 3D Engine based on Qfusion (a modification of Quake 2 GPL engine)
* eSport oriented FPS
* Gameplay focused on speed, trick jumps and art of move
* Complete Power-up system, including exclusive weak and strong fire mode for each gun
* Cartoonish graphics, mixing Cyberpunk / Industrial / SciFi themes
* References: Quakeworld, Quake3 CPMA, Jet Set Radio

Last is not a game in itself, but a mod for Half-Life 2 called GoldenEye:Source.
It’s in its alpha stage but it’s still an awesome game. The developers are trying to make it as close to the N64 console version as possible. For example, there’s no crosshair unless you use the aim feature, which isn’t programmed yet. There also aren’t any populated servers yet (the one I joined only had one guy in it goofing off). However, the game is freakin’ sweet so you should definitely download it and keep it on your radar.
